Let's talk about self-care. Not to be confused with selfishness. Have you ever been here? Where you have worked hard all day long (at home or elsewhere) and you're just settling in for a nice relaxing evening (or a few minutes) when outta nowhere something (or someone) comes and interrupts your down time? Hey, that may just be the season you're in, like I am. But it's just for now. Not forever.
Unless you're not even looking out for your own needs. And then your body feels like it's wearing down with no end in sight.
But there's a balance in there. Where you take care of you so you can better take care of others. That's the name of the game. And then, when you do get interrupted, it's not the end of the world because you've been taking care of yourself all along so have some reserves. And you don't have to get angry because after all the purpose of taking care of yourself is so that you can have the strength (and reserves) to take care of others.
Win-win for mental and physical health.
Just remember that no matter your current situation, it's temporary. Things can change in a moment. So enjoy the good, seek to change the bad, and be okay with the mundane. â
